Weymouth v Hungerford Town
When: 30th November 2019
Where: Bob Lucas Stadium, DT4 9XJ
K.O 3PM
Nearing the hectic Christmas period it's quite clear to see these two sides will be fighting different battles. The hosts are quietly propelling up the table and potential dark horses to get promoted this season. On the other hand the visitors aren't getting much luck, with Saturday's FA trophy tie a clear indicator of that. Ferdinand's penalty miss at 2-1 was a crucial moment, if that went in it's likely that Hungerford would've progressed. Saturday will be another tough game but good performances need to start turning into results. The law of averages suggests Weymouth's unbeaten run has to end soon. Is Saturday the day it ends?
Form guide - Weymouth are unbeaten in 5 games and on a 10 game unbeaten run in the National League South. They narrowly progressed in the FA trophy against Hastings last Saturday after drawing 1-1 at Billericay and beating Hampton 2-1. Hungerford have lost their last two games against Chelmsford in the Trophy and Eastbourne in the league. Their last victory was on the road, 3-0 at Braintree.
Team news - Weymouth will be without trio Sam Sherring, Andy Robinson and Callum Buckley. Hungerford on-loan goalkeeper Adam Siviter was injured in training for Birmingham last week meaning Ian Herring is likely to have brought in a new goalkeeper for this game. Midfielder Yan Klukowski could make a return to the squad.
Star man - The Terras striker Ben Thomson has six goals to his name this season, scoring the winner in their last league win versus Hampton two weeks ago. It was an excellent team performance from the Crusaders last Saturday but Taofiq Olomowewe once again stood out as a stalwart at centre back.
Head to head - These sides last met in the 2015/16 season with the Terras winning both games by a one goal margin. In 2014/15 the Crusaders won 2-0 at home but lost 3-1 on the South coast. They met five times previous to those meetings with both clubs winning two matches each and the other one ending in a draw.
