Bath City v Hungerford Town
Where: Twerton Park, BA2 1DB
When: Tuesday 14th August 2019
K.O 7.45PM
After two home matches it's back on the road for Hungerford. They'll want to banish old memories of past trips to Twerton Park as they don't make happy reading for Crusaders fans. Our away form in general doesn't make happy reading and many will snap your hand off for a point before kick off. We're stronger than we have been for the last two years coming into this fixture but so are our hosts, still unbeaten after three games despite a host of first team players sitting on the side-lines. Tuesday night football doesn't come much tougher than this.
Form guide- Hosts Bath comfortably beat Welling United 3-0 in Kent on Saturday after a 1-1 draw at Weymouth on Tuesday. They started off the season with a 2-0 home win against Braintree Town. Hungerford lost 3-1 to Maidstone United on Saturday after picking up their first win of the season against Slough Town on the Tuesday. Our only away game so far ended in a 4-1 loss at Hemel Hempstead.
Team news- James Pardington, on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, made his debut against Welling due to injuries to fellow goalkeepers Ryan Clarke and Harvey Wiles-Richards. Ross stearn will be assessed after nasty cut to the eye forced him off against Weymouth last week. Ryan Brunt is back from suspension. The Crusaders have no injury concerns though Ian Herring may freshen up his starting eleven after name the same starting line-up for the last two games.
Star man- Tyler Harvey has two goals in his first three starts and scored five goals in two games against Hungerford last season including four in one game. However, Hungerford have a striker with goal threat of his own in James Constable who also has two goals in his first three games for the club.
Head to head- The Romans have a formidable record at home to the Crusaders winning nine-one on aggregate in the last two home matches. In 2016/17 the points were shared at Twerton Park in a 1-1 draw. At Bulpit Lane the visitors have a better record. A 0-0 draw towards the end of last season, narrowly losing 2-1 in 2017/18 and drawing 2-2 in 2016/17.
