Hungerford Town v Maidstone United
When: 10th August 2019
Where: Bulpit Lane, RG17 OAY
K.O 3PM
After one win and one defeat, Hungerford will be moderately pleased with the start they have made so far. The new look side showed what they could do in midweeks win over Slough Town and they’ll need to replicate that for this weekend’s game against Maidstone who were relegated from the National league last season. They’ve made a poor start to life back at step 2 and will be feeling the pressure to collect three points on Saturday. It’s set up for an interesting contest at Bulpit Lane.
Form guide- The visitors have lost their first two games this season to Weymouth and Welling United. The Crusaders have won one and lost one to Slough Town and Hemel Hempstead.
Team news- Luke Pennel picked up a late injury versus Welling so if he shan’t play he could be replaced by former Hungerford loanee Noah Chesmain. Jonny Edwards also went off with an injury and isn’t expected to play a part in the match this weekend for Maidstone. For Hungerford, they have no injury concerns and will go with the same squad that beat Slough on Tuesday.
Star man: Not been much to cheer about so far for Stones fans but Justin Amaluzor has got there only goal of the campaign so far against Weymouth and will be dangerous for the visitors on Saturday. Crusaders striker James Constable got his first goal of the season against Slough and will be looking to add to that tally on Saturday. Constable is also a key asset for brining players into the game and winning free kicks.
Head to head- This is the first meeting in the national league south between the sides.
