Welling united v Hungerford Town
Where: Park View, Welling, DA16 1SY
When: 1st December 2018
K.O 3PM
Hungerford face one of their toughest games of the season when they travel to third place Welling united this Saturday. It kicks off a new month where the Crusaders have three winnable home games alongside Dartford away who they’ve already beaten this year. Hungerford only collected 1 league point in November but should be targeting a lot more this month however this game will be more of a free hit than a must win.
Form guide- Welling have to play on Wednesday night against Dulwich Hamlet who they drew 1-1 against at home last weekend in the Fa trophy. United had an unbeaten November and have lost only three times this season. Only one of those came at home which was to Billericay 3-0 in August. Hungerford got knocked out of the Fa trophy 1-0 at Dorchester last Saturday. In the league they got a deserved 2-2 draw at home to Billericay town after losing three games in a row. However they haven’t won away from home since Bank holiday Monday in August.
Team news- Welling have no new injury concerns but may rest players in the Fa trophy for this weekend’s league clash. Hungerford have got Darren Foxley back to full fitness but will now have to do without midfielder Dan Bailey through concussion which is the same problem for Tarik Moore-Azill however he is nearing a return to first team action.
Star man- Nassam L’Ghoul is a young midfielder for the hosts with bags of potential. He netted a goal in his last home league game v Weston and was a star performer. Hungerford’s Josh Martin will need to keep him at bay. Despite the Crusaders poor performance last weekend, the Birmingham loanee was still a good performer and has done well since he arrived last month already netting two goals for the club.
Head to head- Last season Hungerford narrowly lost 3-2 in Kent before suffering the same fate 4-1 at home. Town did beat United 1-0 at home in the 2016-17 season before holding them to a 0-0 draw away.
