A superb second half strike from Brad Hooper secured the win for Hungerford at Bulpit Lane to keep their playoff hopes alive
Hungerford without the suspended Curtis Angell but welcomed back Jordon Rose to the starting XI. Gloucester players Elis Watts and Jake Evans returned to Bulpit Lane to play against their former club.
The first half was one where the home side had the better chances. The best of which was midway through the half when Brad Hooper found Kyle Tooze free in the box. Tooze tried to take the ball around Gloucester keeper Jake Bell which he did, but his shot was blocked in the six yard box by Harry Emmett . Tooze regretting not having shot first time.
On the half hour mark Jose Marquez found Hooper in the box but this time Bell was quick off his line to stop the Hungerford midfielder reaching the ball for a shot on goal.
Gloucester did have an ambitious penalty shout when Jordan Rose blocked a Jake Evans shot but it was waved away.
The second half started with Hungerford nearly scoring via a Jordan Rose header from a corner that was again well stopped by Bell. Hooper then had a shot from wide in the box stopped by Bell moments later the Gloucester keeper keeping up his busy afternoon.
It was ten minutes into the half when Hungerford got the winner. Jose Marquez playing Hooper through the middle to smash the ball past Bell from the edge of the box.
In truth Hungerford could have increased the lead Rafa Ramos and Marquez both going close to finding the net. Gloucester chances were restricted to long range efforts with Watts, who was being marked out the game by Rhys Tyler, and Evans both quiet on their return.
Hooper was pulling the strings in midfield for Hungerford and Rose being a mountain at the back mean that Hungerford held out the lead comfortably.
