It was a match played in cold conditions on a tricky playing surface where the ball was difficult to keep under control
Hungerford started well and Kyle Tooze had an early shot deflected into the arms of Joe Duncan in the Tiverton goal. Rhys Tyler tried his luck from range after 13 minutes but again Duncan was on hand to gather up the ball.
Just before the half hour when Hungerford were starting to become a bit frustrated Tyler put the away side in front when again Duncan had saved from Jose Marquez but Tyler was first to react to score.
It was then Hungerford pressure and Marquez, Tooze and Jordan Rose all had opportunities save by the impressive Duncan whose quick reactions were keeping Tiverton in the game. Just before half time however Marquez closed down on goal from wide on the left, his shot was too much to Duncan and Hungerford had doubled the lead.
The second half was all about Hungerford controlling the game. Duncan was again called into action after ten minutes with a fantastic finger tip save from a Tyler 30 yard shot that seemed top corner bound. The Hungerford skipper could have easily had a hat trick but for the Tiverton stopper.
The Hungerford defense had to be on thier toes however and Luke Softley, Matt Berry-Hargreaves and Tyler all made crucial challenges to prevent chances on Ryan Clarke's goal.
With five minutes to go Hungerford eased any nerves by scoring the third. Marquez quicker to a loose ball wide on the right of the area and his cool finish past an advanced Duncan was a real moment of quality. The young striker now Hungerford's top scorer for the season.
Jordon Ibe on as sub teased another chance but after gonig past two defenders the ball bobbled out of his control. Hungerford though continue to look up the table in this remarkable 2025 run
