Hungerford were still without influential Elis Watts, the unavailable Joe Shepherd and Jacob Bancroft had succumbed to a toe injury earlier in the week. Brandon Curtis however made his full debut
The Crusaders also lost skipper Rhys Tyler in the warm up to give a problem to Danny Robinson immediately. Louie Paget was call up in his place at right back
It was Paget with the first real half chance heading a Alfie Santos cross just over. Ryan Clarke had to deal with a few tricky Poole corners early on but Hungerford gradually took control as the half wore on
Poole’s keeper Cam Plain was certainly busier of the two glove men, and he had to tip a Dawid Regula cross shot round the post on the half hour.
Five minutes before half time Hungerford had a big chance when Regula broke free of the Poole offside trap but his effort when one on one with Plain was brilliantly saved to keep things level
The second half followed much the same pattern as the end of the first with the visiting team taking more and more control. Heavily influenced by Brad Hooper pulling strings in midfield
On the hour another brilliant stop from Plain prevented Paget scoring with an effort that was going just inside the far post
Adulai Sambu replaced the tiring Issac Hughes and he almost scored with his first involvement, taking the ball around two defenders before his shot was blocked in the six yard box
In the final ten minutes Poole were reduced to 10 men when centre back Whisken received a second yellow. Hungerford suffered the same fate in injury time when Ramarni Medford-Smith saw his second yellow
Hungerford will be disappointed not to have turned a point into three but its now 5 unbeaten on the road for the Crusaders
